Robert F. Robinson, Jr., MSA, CCA

Job Title: Clinical Anaplastologist/Dental Maxillofacial Laboratory Prosthetist for Langley Air Force Dental Squadron Medical Group

Education: Bachelors of Science degree in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University and a Masters of Science degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University. Robert received his specialty training in dental laboratory prosthetics from the Navy School of Dental Assisting and Technology, San Diego, CA and Anaplastology/Maxillofacial Prosthetics from the Naval Post-graduate Dental School, Bethesda, MD.

Robert currently works as an Anaplastologist/Dental Maxillofacial Prosthetist for the 633rd Dental Squadron, Medical Group Langley Air Force base in Hampton, VA and maintains a private consultant practice in Suffolk, VA.

From 2009 to 2016, Robert provided clinical, general, advanced laboratory and technical support in the fabrication of conventional, non-conventional, simple, complex, intra- and extra-oral prosthetics and radiation appliances for numerous departments within the Walter Reed National Medical Center at Bethesda, MD.

From 2002 to 2008, Robert served as the Chief Clinical Anaplastologist for Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Virginia. Prior to this position, he served as an maxillofacial laboratory instructor at the Naval Post-graduate Dental School, Naval School of Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD. During his tenor as an educator, Robert was involved in a self-study project rewriting the programs’ core curriculum. He was one of the authors of the first Dental Maxillofacial Laboratory programs to be approved for accreditation by the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, Washington, D.C. From 1991 to 1998 he served as section leader and lab manager for Dental Removable Prosthetics in Pearl Harbor, HI and Bethesda, MD. With years of specialty training in intra and extra oral appliances, Robert collaborated with many specialists in the treatment plans of difficult cases. He is involved in many community organizations, raising public awareness for the services which an Anaplastologist provides, and a consultant for a treatment facility in Hampton Roads. Robert has served as the President for the Oral Health Improvement Coalition of South Hampton Roads, as the Conference Awards Chair and President of the International Anaplastology Association (IAA), and as the Treasurer for the Board for Certification in Clinical Anaplastology (BCCA).
