All of the documents and application forms referred to on this site can be found on the page BCCA PDFs. Information may change and forms are periodically updated so applicants must make reference to the BCCA PDFs page to be sure they are using updated application forms and have accurate information documents.
The CCA Application for Eligibility to sit for the exam is due June 1, 2020
The last date for CCA Applications had a January 15, 2019 deadline
August 1, 2020 March 1, 2019: Confirmation notices are sent to eligible applicants with exam registration instructions and the CCA Examination Registration Form.
September 1, 2020: The CCA Examination Registration Form and $800 fee are due to the BCCA.
October 1, 2020: An Authorization-to-Test (ATT) is sent to eligible candidates for the CCA administration.
November 14, 2020: CCA Administration at the IAA Annual Conference in Scottsdale, AZ, USA
Please note: The BCCA suggests that candidates planning to submit an application for the June 1, 2020 contact the BCCA administrator ahead of time so we can help the candidate be sure that all the required documents are submitted and the application is completed and on time.
The BCCA welcomes two professionals who have recently become certified in clinical anaplastology
Merissa earned her bachelor's degree in studio art at the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. Combining her love for art, science and helping people, she completed the Maxillofacial Prosthetic Technician Training Program at the James J. Peters Bronx VA Medical Center and Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York City. Working with patients and learning dental laboratory technology inspired her to study biology and chemistry at City University of New York to prepare for a career in dentistry. In 2017 she began a doctor of dental surgery (DDS) program at The University of California San Francisco, where she is also involved in biomineralization and imaging research. She is currently a certified clinical anaplastologist treating patients from across the Bay Area at UCSF School of Dentistry's Department of Prosthodontics. After graduation from dental school in 2021 she plans to specialize in maxillofacial prosthodontics.'.
Jim received his BA Art (Minor Biology) from San Jose State University and MA in Biomedical Communications from the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center in Dallas where, in addition to studying Medical Illustration, he was instrumental in creating the first course in 3D models and prosthetics offered there.
After graduation he was accepted into the internship program of the Visual Information Section at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota and afterwards worked as a Medical Illustrator at the Medical Graphics Department of the University of Minnesota. While there he also created several patient simulator models for medical products companies in the Minneapolis area and did his first clinical cases in Anaplastology at the U of M Dental School Department of Prosthodontics.
Jim has worked as a Medical Sculptor for Limbs & Things in Bristol England and Centri AB in Jarfalla, Sweden; sculptor and painter for movies and TV in the Make up Effects Industry in Los Angeles, CA; Anaplastologist for Aesthetic Prosthetics in Pasadena, CA and The Center For Custom Prosthetics in Naples, Florida.
Jim currently works as an Anaplastologist at Medical Art Prosthetics in Madison Wisconsin where he has implemented the design and fabrication of facial and somato prosthetics using digital technology.
